One of my favorite design elements in the new space is the ability to showcase my vintage camera collection. I love collecting old cameras, it makes me appreciate how far photography has come. From the film age to the digital age and all of the advancements in-between. My collection started a few years ago with a brownie (the middle camera) and then I found an old Yashica Mat 124-G, which is a twin lens reflect camera(camera on the left). I actually used this camera at one of the first weddings I had ever photographed back in high-school for a family friend. My collections has expanded to 15 – 20 cameras and I am always on the look out for another one.
I often wonder what did the previous owner use the camera for. Did they photograph their family vacations? Maybe they photographed weddings like me. I wish I could sit down with them and look through their albums and listen to the stories that go along with photos. I can’t help but think that in the future someone might say the same thing, when they find one of my digital cameras at an antique store.
