Last Friday, I had to the pleasure of speaking to about 100 students at a local highschool.  My nerves were high, as I am more of a behind the scenes kinda gal.  I love sharing about my photography experiences, the road might not always be smooth or the most traveled, but I love what I do.

While I had been preparing for the presentation for about two weeks, I knew I would be working on the slideshow and final details up until the very last minute.

I thought I would share the slideshow from the presentation!

Enjoy!

Jill and Marcus’ destination wedding has been a long awaited event for me.  I love there personalities and how they interact with each other. From our very first meeting, I knew that their wedding would be an amazing event.

We arrived late on Thursday evening in Puerto Rico to amazing weather, a nice drive to the resort and a great nights sleep.  On Friday morning, we did a walk through of the property. Scouting locations, checking lighting and meeting up with Jill and Marcus.  We joined their immediate families for a little dinner at a local hotspot called Calypso.  The sunset over the ocean was amazing!

A night shot of Calypso!

jillblog1Following dinner we joined all of the guests for a cocktail party.

First thing Saturday morning, we scouted the location for the ceremony and also post ceremony portraits.  By mid afternoon we were in full swing and photographing two amazing people!

Surfing is a big part of why Jill and Marcus decided to get married in Puerto Rico and more importantly in Rincon.  I love that they incorporated long boards into their portraits, but into their ceremony as well.  jillblog7jillblog6jillblog8Check back tomorrow for the DAY AFTER session!

Yesterday, I spent most of the day gathering our camera equipment, charging batteries, organizing bags and checking off the travel list.  Thursday evening we leave for Puerto Rico to photograph Jill and Marcus’ wedding and I couldn’t be more excited.  I spent more of the day focusing on the photo gear and today focused on wardrobe packing.  I did some sho-packing (my new term for shopping and packing for trips… shop and pack) over the past few weeks and have a lot of the wardrobe already selected and put together.

We will be out of the office until next Tuesday and I will be without phone and email during the trip.  We will be in touch Tuesday once we return.

I also played with a new lens I am considering purchasing.  It isn’t the first time I have rented a 50mm 1.2L lens, but I am still not 100% sold.  I am hoping this wedding will seal the deal and I will be placing an order next week.   A special thanks to Turk for being a model this afternoon while I played with the lens.
