As I am getting running around like a crazy girl between shoots and packing for our annual family beach vacation I realized that I have been blogging for 6 years!  6 years! Are you kidding me?  If you know me well enough, you know that I enjoy change.  I enjoy changes of seasons, hair colors, nail polish colors, I even like moving.  So, I am really surprised at myself for blogging as long as I have.  What a lot of people don’t realize is that blogging is a love/hate relationship at times.  While I love showing off photographs from recent shoots, the time invested in pulling the photos, putting together the story that goes along is really time consuming.  I often start a post and then delete what I have written and start all over again. (point in case.. I have started typing this post at least three times)

I remember the day that I decided to start blogging perfectly.   We were at the beach and I was on DIAL-UP sitting in the kitchen creating an account with typepad.  Patrick had come into the kitchen and asked what I was doing and I responded with “I am creating a blog for the business” His reply “Why?” I didn’t have a good answer, I just went on my marry way and created my own little part of the internet.  I am pretty sure he still doesn’t get my need for a blog, but I don’t care.
So in honor of year 6, I thought the blog could use a little facelift.  I selected a design that feels much more editorial to me.  The new layout will go perfectly with the new website that I *promise* will be launching soon!
Here I am, 6 years later a ton of posts and a heck of a lot of images!  Thanks for being a supporter, follower, commenter and reader!
Have a great week!

Gretchen and Tim were married at Historic Waynesborough on the most perfect overcast day. It really was a dream to photograph.  Gretchen looked stunning in a dress design by a Project Runway contestant, Carol Hannah.  I really felt that her dress complimented not only the entire look of the wedding, but her personality as well.  A heart felt ceremony preformed by a very good friend of theirs made the ceremony so intimate and beautiful.  Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn and dinner and dancing under the tent.  The band kept the party going all night.

The top image of Gretchen and Tim took my breath away!  It is one of my favorite images from the entire year! So classic and timeless

Happy Friday!

Emily picked her grandfather’s farm as the location for her photos and I think it was the perfect spot.  I love the Ralph Lauren feel in these photos. I love how pairing jeans and white tee with aviator sunglasses and cowboy boots can transform a basic look.

Amy and Marco’s wedding was truly spectacular.  Their ceremony took place that the Basilica of Peter and Paul in Philadelphia which I feel is an honor to photograph a wedding in.  When you stand inside the Basilica, there is just this overwhelming and magical feeling you get. During the ceremony Amy and Marco’s did a little surprise fist bump before taking their first kiss as husband and wife.  Following the ceremony we stopped by a few Philly landmarks before heading over to the Overbrook Golf Club which was so gorgeous.  A special thank you to Bekka of Innove Events for helping the day run so smoothly!

Enjoy!

Tech notes: The two black and white ceremony photographs we taken with a 400mm 2.8 lens!  If you have ever been inside the Basilica you know how large and grand it is.  I am blown away with how incredible the ceremony images are thanks to this lens and my amazing second shooter! It is my new go to lens for the ceremony!

This shoot was very special to me.  My little cousin, who is not so little anymore is finally a senior.  I can’t believe it!
I also know that there are two people who are with us in spirit that are so proud of you!
